Happy Valentine's
Okay so before you start reading this ask yourself a question, why are you here reading my blog when you should be out on a date? I just wanted to trigger you and I hope I won.
Let's dive deep now, if you are thinking that I am gonna talk about how there should not be a specific day assigned to celebrate love and it's just a capitalistic gimmick then either you haven't read my blogs or I haven't been able to express myself properly or you have been suffering through some serious comprehension issues. The Valentine's week will end today and to celebrate it's ending I went out on a 'lunch date' with my same old usual friend like many other days but this time we wanted to do something unusual so we decided to walk and we walked for freaking 2 hours here and there like a tourist and discovered many new routes, we walked with absolutely no goal in our heads, for a person like me to walk for 2 hours is a huge achievement. We were discussing our lives and were gossiping as we should basically we were witnessing a to and fro motion of a pendulum from brain rot content to deep talks. We had bunked our classes with an absolute resolution of having fun and make the best use of the time so we were fully focused fulfilling our motto for the day but halfway our discussion when we were conversing about what would happen if they start selling spiced up waffles, a thought struck my head when I watched a dog sitting on top of a mini cooper, how indifferent and unaware he was of the fact that the owner would soon come and shoo him away. How innocent and carefree he was, he didn't know the concept of luxury car, he just saw a good place to sit and he did what seemed right to him without thinking about the consequences. You are free to disagree with me but I really think that there's a lot we can learn from that dog, we humans keep losing our innocence and freedom as we grow up, we start to view at our own lives through some others' lenses and our in our desperate need of looking desirable, respectable, admirable we keep losing ourselves each day by a little. We are so much conditioned to want what others want from us for ourselves. Why do we view ourselves as an object who has to fit into the society, into someone else's perception of you, who has to earn this much amount of money, who has to glow up, who has to get that job, who has to get that figure, who has to get that guy/girl. Please stop and take a breathe for a moment, stop trading your uniqueness, the beauty of your imperfections, your story, your mind, your thought, your emotions just to fit into the society who doesn't give a damn to you, who see life nothing greater than a profit and loss equation. I am not saying that all those things aren't important, success is important but it should not come at the cost of your peace otherwise what's the point of it, I am not asking you to become a monk but at least decide for yourself about what do you want, stop subscribing to someone else's world view without thinking twice, stop projecting your insecurities into the world wrapped around with a shiny cover of glow up, stop believing everything you are shown just because you lack the other perspective.
Check the amount of drug you are high on. Why don't you consciously choose to look and think everything differently? Why don't you create a character in your head as you would want when no one is looking at you and live like that? Come back to yourself. You belong to you, tend to your own self and let the world experience you in the most authentic version of you. (p.s- each 'you' is actually for me :p)
Eww I hate sounding this preachy and this was not what I had decided to write today, I had initially thought to emphasize on the idea that discipline is not what you should strive for, routine is not a the right way to live but let me keep it for some other day. But anyways this is my space where I sometimes think aloud so that everyone can read my thoughts and I can do anything I want to so let this girl exist. You too go and have fun in your life as 'you' want but not before confirming if this is what you truly want or you are just buying on someone else's ideas. Be original even of it is horrible, you'd improve eventually. This was all I think I'd like to write this Valentine's day, love yourselves, bye, take care. 💗
